Vero is the perfect leader, as she has a great ability to make history come alive, distill complex ideas and “connect the dots”. She also has wonderful insights on contemporary French life and culture. Tours is an ideal base: a big enough city with many diversions, but small enough to get around easily and enjoy many opportunities to speak French. I would highly recommend her language classes and Immersion Workshops. I can’t wait to return.

Vero runs a fun, educational, and very impactful French immersion workshop! I was delighted to participate in the Intermediate level immersion course in October, 2025. The course is... read more structured so that students meet with Vero each morning in a cafe to learn about a particular element of French life (cheese, wine, literary figures, local history, etc...). Then the afternoon is spent "in the field" experiencing what was learned about that morning. Tours is an excellent home base for this workshop. We enjoyed the town itself, as well as the food and wine of the region. The week really was a "slice of life." All lessons and activities are done in French - I was amazed at how much more comfortable I became as the week went along. And although I went in with a goal to improve my spoken fluency (which certainly occurred), I was shocked by how much my auditory comprehension improved. This was an unexpected, but very welcome benefit. This experience was a real treat - and I can't wait to return! I would recommend this course, without reservation, to anyone looking to improve their French, while also experiencing a little of the French joie de vivre.

Our tour began and ended in a cozy cafe; I left with a new appreciation for my temporary home and a deeper understanding of its history, which helped me finish my book project. Later on Veronique sent me an email with additional resources and thanks to her, I connected with a Facebook group for expats, a weekly language "lounge," and an immigration attorney who outlined my options for staying in France long-term. Having such a generous bilingual guide/consultant was much appreciated--I highly recommend all her services!

We wanted an orientation to the city as we had not visited and found out things I’m sure we never would have known about. For example: Guinguettes are located along the River and are basically tavern/restaurants that allow you to enjoy being near the water. Certainly not something unseen where I live, but we would not have thought to look for one in Tours. Veronique gave us many ideas of what to do in our time in the city, which we found very helpful. She frequently asked and wanted to ensure we were enjoying the tour. We definitely would love a chance to tour with her again!
