Holiday Greetings

Bonjour from Paris!

After a brutally cold spell (to us Frenchies at least) the weather has returned to its predictable overcast, rainy self in Paris.

I am staying at my parents’ in the “Ile de France”. They are both tired. On Saturday, my brother, his family and Junior (mon fils) will be joining us for a Christmas Eve celebration. This year, we will not be having a traditional, sit-down multi-course dinner.

We are planning instead “un apéritif dinatoire” with a selection of finger foods, savory and sweet, paired with French wines. The evening will start with Champagne and end with “une bûche pâtissière” (flavor: fruits rouges pistache.)

Then will come the traditional gift exchange.

Holiday celebrations like life itself can involve some… pivoting.

This month I continue sharing la Belle France weekly on social media with stories, reels (those short videos that let me pretend I am a famous movie director) and impromptu virtual tours on Facebook.

Let’s wrap up the year in style. Remember our New Year’s Eve Seine river cruise last year?
